Studies on Principal Clinical Signs of An Attenuated Live Measles Virus Vaccine in a Korean Infant Asylum


Abstract
Attenuated, live measles virus vaccine (Lirugen) was tested in order to know the clinical reaction after i inoculation in 110 children.The children participating in this study, consisted of. normal children, 0-2 years old, in an infant asylum. The children who had no measles before, was divided into vaccination group and control group. There were 76 in the vaccination group and 34 in the control group. They were examined by a physician regularly during the observation period of 20 days. There was no significant difference on clinical reaction between the vaccination group and the control group except the occurrence of significant number of fever reaction in 0 age group of vaccination. The fever reaction in the vaccination group occurred on an average of 6 th day after vaccination, continued for an average of 3 days and disappeared without any remarkable symptome. No different rate was observed in occurrence of rash, cough, coryza, conjunctivitis and pharyngitis in the 2 groups. No Koplik spots were observed in either group. Future further study should be observed concerning its efficacy.
